This would cause a child not to gain weight or get taller. Talk with your doctor if you think this is a problem. This medicine may increase your risk of having an adrenal gland that is less active than normal. The adrenal gland makes steroids for your body. This is more likely for people who use steroids for a long time or use high doses.
Check with your doctor right away if you have more than one of the following symptoms: darkening of the skin, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, loss of appetite, mental depression, nausea, skin rash, unusual tiredness or weakness, or vomiting.
Rarely, menstrual cycle changes, acne, pimples, or weight gain fat deposits around the face, neck, and trunk may occur while taking this medicine.
Check with your doctor immediately if blurred vision, difficulty in reading, or any other change in vision occurs during or after treatment. Your doctor may want you to have your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist eye doctor.
Before you have any kind of surgery including dental surgery or emergency treatment, tell the medical doctor or dentist in charge that you are using this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve within four weeks, or if they become worse, check with your doctor.

Many medications can cause side effects. A side effect is an unwanted response to a medication when it is taken in normal doses. Side effects can be mild or severe, temporary or permanent. The side effects listed below are not experienced by everyone who takes this medication.
If you are concerned about side effects, discuss the risks and benefits of this medication with your doctor. Many of these side effects can be managed, and some may go away on their own over time. Contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are severe or bothersome.
Your pharmacist may be able to advise you on managing side effects. These factors may affect how you should use this medication. Asthma control: This medication is not for use as a "reliever" medication. If you start developing an asthma attack, be sure to use your "reliever" medication for rapid relief of your asthma symptoms. This may mean your asthma is not controlled. Your doctor may want you to temporarily change the dose of ciclesonide or may start you on an oral corticosteroid. Bone problems: When used for long periods of time, this medication may reduce bone density and increase the risk of developing osteoporosis. Your doctor may monitor for this periodically. Breathing problems: If you experience wheezing or difficulty breathing right after using this medication, use your "reliever" medication e.
Eye problems: This medication may increase the risk of cataracts, increased pressure in the eye, and glaucoma when used for long periods of time. Your doctor will monitor you by checking your eyes periodically.
Infections: Infections such as chickenpox and measles can be more serious in people taking medications such as ciclesonide. If you are exposed to someone with chickenpox or measles, contact your doctor.
Liver function: Liver disease or reduced liver function may cause this medication to build up in the body, causing side effects. Although this is not usually a problem if you have mildly-to-moderately reduced liver function, the effect of this medication on people with severely reduced liver function has not been determined.
If you have liver problems, discuss with your doctor how this medication may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed. Your doctor may want to test your liver function regularly with blood tests while you are taking this medication.
Oral hygiene: Adequate oral hygiene, such as rinsing your mouth with water after using this medication, helps reduce the chances of developing a yeast infection of the mouth or throat called "thrush". Using a spacer device with the inhaler can also reduce how much medication stays in your mouth. If you develop symptoms of thrush, such as white patches in your mouth, contact your doctor.
Steroid medication use: If you have taken or are still taking oral steroid medication during the last several months, consult your doctor before using this medication. How to Take Alvesco Alvesco comes in an inhaler device and should be inhaled through the mouth. Alvesco Inhalation Aerosol comes as a canister that fits into an actuator with a dose indicator. Do not use the actuator with a canister of medicine from any other inhaler. Do not use Alvesco Inhalation Aerosol canister with an actuator from any other inhaler.
Before using your Alvesco Inhalation Aerosol for the first time, and any time it has not been used for more than 10 days, it will need to be primed. Make sure the canister is firmly placed in the mouthpiece each time you use the inhaler. Remove the cap from the plastic mouthpiece. Hold the actuator upright, between your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger. You do not need to shake the Alvesco inhaler before using it.
Prime the inhaler by releasing 3 test sprays into the air, away from your face. Check the dose indicator display window after the priming sprays and before the first use to make sure it shows that there are 60 sprays left in your Alvesco Inhalation Aerosol unit.
If there are not 60 sprays left after the initial priming sprays, return it to the pharmacy. Step 1. Remove the cap from the mouthpiece. Step 2. Hold the actuator upright, between your thumb, forefinger, and middle finger with the mouthpiece pointing towards you. Step 3. Breathe Out Breathe out fully through your mouth, letting as much air out of your lungs as possible. Close your lips around the mouthpiece, keeping your tongue below it.
Step 4. Breathe In While breathing in deeply and slowly through your mouth, press down on the center of your dose indicator with your finger until the canister stops moving inside the actuator. When you have finished breathing in, hold your breath for about 10 seconds, or for as long as is comfortable. Step 5. Breathe Out Take your finger completely off the center of the dose indicator and remove the inhaler from your mouth. Breathe out gently. Replace the cap to keep the mouthpiece clean.
Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out. Do not swallow. STEP 1 Clean the mouthpiece weekly with a clean dry tissue, both inside and out. STEP 2 Wipe over the front of the small hole where the medicine comes out with a dry, folded tissue.
